Ecuadorians abroad. A good week for Manoly Baquerizo in France and a quieter one for the La Tri Femenina players at the Copa Libertadores Femenina in Quito. Here is how Ecuador’s women abroad got on, with minutes and ratings from FotMob.
Baquerizo starts in a Paris FC rout
Baquerizo, a left wing-back, started for Paris FC in a 4-0 win at Toulouse in the Première Ligue on Saturday, October 17. She played the first 60 minutes and earned a FotMob rating of 7.1, completing 13 of 24 passes. Océane Picard, Clara Mateo, Évelyne Viens and Karla Torres scored the goals.
It continues a busy run. She played the full 90 minutes of a 4-1 home win over Lens on October 3 (rating 7.5) and played nine minutes of a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Women’s Champions League on September 30.
Espinales and Pesántez back in Ecuador with foreign clubs
Two Ecuador internationals are playing the Copa Libertadores Femenina at home, but for foreign clubs. Joselyn Espinales came on for the last 16 minutes of Palmeiras‘ 1-0 win over Universitario on October 15. Brena scored the only goal. Palmeiras meet Independiente del Valle on Wednesday, October 21 at 8:00 PM ET.
Danna Pesántez started for Belgrano in their 1-1 draw with Independiente del Valle on October 15 and played 59 minutes. Belgrano face Palmeiras on Sunday, October 18.
Ligia Moreira (Villarreal) and Nayely Bolaños (León) have no recent match data on FotMob. Espinales, Pesántez, Moreira and Bolaños were all in Eva Espejo’s Ecuador camp in early October ahead of the World Cup play-off in November.
