Two of Ecuador’s biggest names in Europe had a week to remember. Willian Pacho extended a remarkable disciplinary run in the Champions League with PSG, while Moisés Caicedo finally made his first Premier League start of the season for Chelsea after a calf injury.
Willian Pacho: a Champions League record
Ecuador center back Willian Pacho played the full 90 minutes as PSG beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on October 14, in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
That game took Pacho to 36 Champions League appearances without a yellow or red card, according to El Diario and ESPN. ESPN notes that he played 17 full games in each of the previous two editions of the competition, both won by PSG.

According to the zerozero database, Pacho has 9 appearances and 784 minutes for PSG this season across Ligue 1, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Trophée des Champions.

Moisés Caicedo back in the starting XI
Moisés Caicedo returned to Chelsea’s starting lineup on October 10 in a win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. It was his first Premier League start of the season, after a calf injury he picked up in preseason and aggravated against Brighton in August.
According to Chelsea’s official site, the Ecuadorian midfielder made four successful tackles, the most of any player in the game. Before the match, head coach Xabi Alonso had confirmed he was ready to play. Caicedo was left out of La Tri’s Asia tour and used the break to finish his recovery at the club’s training ground.
