Copa Libertadores Femenina. Liga de Quito are out of the Copa Libertadores Femenina. Olimpia of Paraguay won 1-0 at Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado on Monday night, with substitute Micaela Valdez scoring in the 90th minute, and the Guerreras Albas can no longer reach the quarterfinals with one game left. Dragonas IDV play Palmeiras on Wednesday night, and a draw will be enough for them.

A late blow in Quito
Primicias wrote that Olimpia started better but were not clinical, and that both goalkeepers stood out until the goal finally came at the end. Olimpia had 10 shots to Liga de Quito’s six, according to Primicias. Valdez had come on in the 58th minute for Mariana Pion, the Paraguayan Football Association’s match report shows.
Liga de Quito finished the game with ten players. Marcela Quiñónez was booked in the 32nd minute and sent off for a second yellow card in the 72nd, according to the same report.
José Londoño’s team lost their opener 2-1 to Cruzeiro. Cruzeiro (6 points) have already qualified after beating Bolívar 3-0 on Monday, Olimpia have 4, Bolívar 1 and Liga de Quito 0, which leaves the Ecuadorian side unable to finish in the top two. They close their campaign against Bolívar on Thursday, October 22 (8:00 PM ET) at Rodrigo Paz Delgado, at the same time as Olimpia vs Cruzeiro at Estadio Banco Guayaquil.
Dragonas IDV: a draw will do
Independiente del Valle are in a much better position. After beating Universitario 4-2 on Sunday, the Dragonas need only a draw against Palmeiras on Wednesday, October 21 (8:00 PM ET) at Estadio Banco Guayaquil in Sangolquí to reach the quarterfinals.
Palmeiras (6 points) are already through. IDV have 4, Belgrano 1 and Universitario 0. Even a defeat would be enough for IDV unless Belgrano beat Universitario in the other game, played at the same time. In that case IDV and Belgrano would finish level on 4 points and tiebreakers would decide.
