Atlético FC, the newcomers

“The coaching staff of the senior team continue their agenda of visits in Guayaquil,” the federation wrote, adding that the meeting let them “learn more about [the club’s] project.” It was the staff’s fourth club visit in two days, after Guayaquil City on Monday and Barcelona SC and Emelec earlier on Tuesday. ESPN noted that Gallardo himself was not at the visits.

Atlético FC secured promotion to LigaPro’s Serie A for 2027 by beating Independiente Juniors 1-0 on October 15, with a goal from Fidel Martínez, according to El Universo. The club is run by Guayaquil’s Junta de Beneficencia in partnership with Atlético de Madrid and played as Atlético JBG before taking its current name. Next season it will be Guayaquil’s fourth top-flight club, alongside Barcelona SC, Emelec and Guayaquil City.

As with the earlier visits, the FEF did not name the staff members or link the stop to any player. Gallardo’s squad for the November friendlies against Costa Rica in Quito (November 13) and Bolivia in Guayaquil (November 17) has not been announced.
