Adonis Preciado had the best Sunday night of any Ecuadorian abroad. In Tijuana’s 4-1 win over Santos Laguna at the Estadio Caliente, he set up the opener and then scored the fourth goal himself.

Preciado set up González for the first goal in the 12th minute. After Esteban Lozano pulled one back for Santos and Nacho Rivero scored a free kick for his second goal, Preciado made it 4-1 in the 72nd minute. He pounced on a mistake as Santos tried to play out from the back and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one. He played 79 minutes. The win ended Santos’ six-match winning streak. It also lifted Xolos to 20 points and eighth place, according to TUDN.

Jackson Porozo played all 90 minutes in central defense for Xolos and earned a 7.8 FotMob rating with four interceptions. Tijuana’s next match is a rescheduled matchday-7 game against América on Wednesday.

Enner Valencia came on for Miguel Merentiel in the 66th minute at Independiente. Facundo Herrera’s 88th-minute header gave Boca Juniors a 1-0 win. Valencia played about 24 minutes and earned a 6.4 FotMob rating.
